Short and Sweet: Hooded Fang EP

Hooded Fang - EPNow this is something I can get behind: 5 bouncy and upbeat tracks that blissfully dance through my speakers, gone as quickly as they came and leaving me hitting repeat. In case you hadn’t guessed from the title of this post, I’m talking about the debut EP from Hooded Fang.

There isn’t enough hyperbole available for me to lavish on this EP. Effervescent, uplifting and infectious, Hooded Fang prove themselves to be a new musical collective definitely worth keeping tabs on. There’s an effortless quality to songs like “The Pageant” that you just can’t undervalue. Add to that the casual interplay between male and female vocalists on “Land of Giants” and the undeniably intoxicating swagger of “Fall Leaves” and there’s nothing here not to like. In fact, probably the highest praise I can give the EP is that it simply sounds like people having fun.

What more can I say? This is damn fine music from a zestful new Toronto outfit that I don’t mind being an advocate for in the least.

The Zunior link is just for an image of their album. I did find it and I have to agree it’s a great album. Looking forward to seeing them open for Born Ruffians on the 1st at the Opera House.
